Lower Farm Cottage

This cosy cottage was created from part of a range of traditional outbuildings at Lower Farm, Shelve. High in the South Shropshire hills, about nine miles from the market town of Bishop's Castle and twelve miles from Shrewsbury, the small village of Shelve enjoys panoramic views of the surrounding hills, from the Stiperstones in the east to the majestic Corndon Hill just over the Welsh border to the west.

Lower Farm Cottage is a comfortable and stylish holiday hideaway for one person or a couple. The cottage is situated at a short distance from the owners' house, where the stone walls of the old farmyard create shelter and privacy without hiding the far-reaching view down the valley.

This cottage is all on one level, with a ramp to the door, and may suit some visitors with disabilities - we would be happy to discuss the possibilities with you. The accommodation comprises: large open-plan living room with wood-burning stove, picture window and television; kitchen/dining area with fridge, oven, hob, microwave and dishwasher; one double bedroom; shower room with hand basin and WC. There is a sofa-bed in the living room, which makes the accommodation more flexible.

There is a separate laundry room in an adjacent building, with washing machine, tumble-dryer, indoor drying space and a freezer which visitors may share. Rent includes bed-linen and towels, electricity and logs for the stove.

Outside there is ample space for parking, and a sheltered courtyard area with garden table and chairs.

Lower Farm is a registered smallholding within the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Prices: £230 - £350 pw according to season
